t. e. a. r. is an exploration of grief as observed in some of it's many manifestations.
From horror and acceptance to apathy, self-pity, anger and han, grief finds expression in many ways. Sometimes camouflaged in other emotions, at other times drowned out by numbness- t.e.a.r. looks at some of the multiple performances of human misery. The design vaguely takes inspiration from anime styles in its rendition of line drawings. These are juxtaposed with clean, bold typography and sliced textual content.
The title is directly derived from a verse in BTS's rap track 'Outro: Tear'.
Project: t.e.a.r.

The project took shape in an attempt to refrain from subscribing to a monolithic romanticization of grief, or giving into the urge to runaway from a painful and transformative emotion. In facing the ways in which grief paints itself, the work reinforces grief as yet another aspect of a life lived- mundane, transformative, and transient.
